wilkon.StreamingCube

Our All-in-One Solution for Continuing Education

The wilkon.StreamingCube is the perfect solution for live online and hybrid events in further education and in the conference sector. Vivid and entertaining trainings, conferences or product presentations can be staged with multiple cameras. It does not matter which web conferencing tool (e.g. MS Teams, ZOOM etc.) or which streaming platform (e.g. YouTube) is to be used. With the StreamingCube, our focus was on enabling even non-technical personnel to carry out such formats.

3, 2, 1 - Action!

Very close to face-to-face sessions and sometimes even way better!

Many trainers acquired a broad repertoire of techniques to give their on-site events a vivid character and to engage their participants in the best possible way. Pure online seminars were therefore often perceived as a step backwards. With the StreamingCube, we are once again opening up room for interaction. Multiple camera perspectives and wireless microphones allow you to move freely around the seminar room without sacrificing voice clarity or without making your gestures unrecognizable. Even when working on a flipchart, metaplan wall or during the demonstration of certain technical setups, it is possible to communicate and interact with online guests at any time. The best thing about it: the StreamingCube opens up visualization and interaction options that go far beyond the traditional classroom setting. We support training centers during all phases of the development and implementation of such formats. We tailor the StreamingCube to your specific needs and offer workshops and coaching for your trainer staff in order to make the most of the StreamingCube's potential right from the start.

Play Video

This video features external content from youtube.com. When activated, personal data (e.g. your IP address) is transmitted to the provider. Read more about this in our privacy policy.

With the StreamingCube, the spotlight is always on the exact scene that should be the focus due to educational considerations.

Using a convenient remote control, trainers can decide whether they want a presentation, a software demo or a specific camera setting to be shown in full screen. If a presentation screen is moved into the camera's field of view, the trainers can interact with the content shown there to draw attention to essential aspects. Interviews or moderations can also be staged very well. The possibilities don't end here: overlays, split screens or green screen recordings are just some of the features supported by the StreamingCube.

User Interface

Usually, the wilkon.StreamingCube is not operated directly at the device, but via a comfortable remote control at the speaker's desk. Nevertheless, the StreamingCube offers everything needed for an operator to work directly on the device and switch the audio and video sources or monitor the recording.

Control Display *

This professional built-in broadcast display with its flip mechanism offers a perfect solution if the StreamingCube is to be used frequently in different rooms and therefore a quick control option for the cameras and all settings is required when setting up the equipment.
*) optional component

Rugged Flight Case

All components are mounted in a sturdy flight case and wired ready to go. Remove the lid, connect the power and network cables and you're ready to go. The dimensions are designed in a way that the StreamingCube can easily be placed on a seminar table.

On/Off Switch

All essential components of the StreamingCube can be switched on and off via the main power switch. Even when the StreamingCube is switched off, wireless microphones/radio transmitters can be charged at the back of the device.

Microphone and Headphone Jack

If the StreamingCube is to be controlled by additional staff 'behind the scenes' on a case-by-case basis, another microphone and headset can be connected here. The microphone can be used for public announcements or as a talkback channel, so that, for example, stage directions can be transmitted discreetly to the presenters' headphones.

QR-Code for Support

The front of the device has a QR code that leads directly to the support page for the respective device. This means that all the important information is at your fingertips and our telephone support team can provide optimal assistance or even connect remotely to the device.

Mediaplayer *

With the media player, pre-produced videos can be easily integrated into the ongoing production. Videos can be selected and easily played via the remote control on the speaker's desk.
*) optional component

8 Channel Video Switcher

Our video switcher allows connecting up to eight video sources in a resolution of up to 1080p. The operation is done via our comfortable remote control at the speaker's desk. However, working directly on the StreamingCube is also possible.

Remote Control

The StreamingCube is operated via our convenient remote control, which is usually placed directly on the speaker's desk, however, it can also be connected directly to the StreamingCube. Layout of the remote control is configured individually. All buttons give visual feedback about the status and are easy to operate without even looking, due to the mechanical design. Very important when the StreamingCube is used directly by the trainers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cameras

Any device that can output its video signal via an HDMI output can be used as a video source. This means that very different signal sources can be used as video sources: classic photo and video cameras with HDMI output (e.g. Sony Alpha 6000 series, Panasonic Lumix G series, etc.), motor-controlled cameras (PTZ cameras), document cameras, tablets (Apple iPad) or even existing smartphones can be used as video sources. It is important that the cameras used can be supplied with continuous power, so that there are no surprises due to empty batteries, etc., even during all-day use.

Yes, this works great. If longer events are to be held, we recommend connecting the iPads to a continuous power supply. In addition, stable tripods and holders should be used. We are happy to assist you.

Yes. The flicker can usually be avoided via a correct choice of exposure times. Therefore, in such scenarios it is important to use cameras where these parameters can be adjusted. We are happy to assist you.

Yes, we are happy to help you with cameras and necessary accessories. If you are interested in rental or leasing conditions for the wilkon.StreamingCube, the cameras and peripherals can also be included in these plans. We always try to find the most suitable and at the same time most cost-effective solutions for you. In our own facilities we use very cost-effective system cameras from the Lumix G series, which are very suitable for many seminar situations and are very easy to use. We also use systems from Sony, Blackmagic Design, document cameras from ELMO and many other special solutions.

Microphones

Yes. If existing microphones have already proven themselves in your premises, they can generally continue to be used. However, it is important for optimal sound quality that directional microphones are used to effectively filter out ambient noise. To ensure easy handling and the best possible sound quality, we will adjust the audio presets to the microphones used at your premises when the StreamingCube is commissioned.

Yes. We would be happy to take care of selecting the most suitable microphones for your application scenario. Starting with low-cost solutions from Rode and Sennheiser to filigree and uncompromising solutions from dpa, we have tested solutions in a wide range of price and performance classes with the StreamingCube.

Integration into existing conferencing equipment

Yes. There is a range of solutions here to get around the limitation of classic HDMI cables. For example, HDMI-to-SDI adapters that allow significantly longer cable lengths or the use of fiber-optic HDMI cables. Here, too, significantly longer signal paths are possible at very low cost. The use of wireless transmissions is also possible. Here, however, significant additional costs must be planned for professional systems.

Special software on the presentation notebook is not required. All devices that were connected to a projector or a large display in the seminar room during classic face-to-face seminars can also be used with the StreamingCube ( no matter if it's Windows, macOS or Linux). Parallel connection to existing projectors and to the StreamingCube is also possible, so that hybrid formats can be recorded without any problems. For parallel operation, an upstream HDMI splitter may be required to mirror the video signal to both receivers (projector/large display + StreamingCube). We will be happy to advise you.

Yes. The StreamingCube was designed so that it can output a ready-mixed audio signal for the room sound system. This not only outputs the sound from the microphones used on stage, but also allows the spoken contributions of guests connected online to be played back in the room if required. On the other hand, wirelessly connected microphones can also be used to transmit spoken contributions from the floor on site to the live stream.

Yes, this is possible as well. However, a very good lighting of the green screen without shadows etc. is required and the cameras used must transmit a good, low-noise image. We will be happy to advise you.
