About the Course
This course is part of the 'Synology Intensive Training' programme and picks up right where the 'DSM Fundamentals' course left off. It includes valuable background knowledge for advanced use cases and scenarios. By successfully passing the online certification test after the training, you will earn the official ‘Synology DSM Architect’ certification. Please note that the contents of the ‘DSM Fundamentals’ course are also a prerequisite for the certification exam. In the current course, we only offer a small recap of these basics. If this is not sufficient for you, we highly recommend attending the ‘DSM Fundamentals’ course beforehand.
Through numerous hands-on exercises, we will explore a range of features that are particularly useful in business environments — including the configuration of SSD cache, the creation of local snapshots, and the encryption of folders or entire volumes. You will learn how to use WriteOnce and immutable snapshots to provide additional protection for your data, and which factors need to be considered when implementing them. You will also learn how to integrate a Synology NAS into an existing domain. In addition, we will introduce other packages and services that support the efficient and secure operation of larger Synology NAS environments — such as Synology Directory Server, Synology Hybrid Share, CMS, and Active Insight.

How does the whole thing work?
This is a hands-on training with plenty of practical exercises conducted directly on the actual devices. During the live session, you will have remote access to a fully featured virtual desktop, from which you can connect to our hardware lab. This allows you to easily follow along with our demonstrations and hands-on exercises. For more extensive exercises, we will split into small teams, where you can collaborate via desktop sharing, observe each other’s work, and support one another. These sessions also provide a great opportunity to exchange knowledge with other business users and Synology partners. Of course, your trainer will be available throughout the entire live session to assist you whenever needed. .

| Certification | The exam can be taken online immediately after the course. You will have several days to complete it. Our trainers will explain the procedure and requirements in detail. All course materials can be used. If you pass the exam, you can download your certificate immediately. You will also receive access to a logo that you can use to showcase your certification, for example, in email signatures or on social media. |
| Recertification | Please note that the certificate typically has a limited validity, meaning you will need to undergo recertification at regular intervals (e.g., after two years).
